  • 07/10/2008 - New Server
Just finished assembling our new server, which i've purchased to upgrade the Mac Mini 1.25Ghz G4 that is currently running the tournament system. I thought it was about time I took advantage of some of the newer advances in processor design released during the last few years, so i've built up a new server based around the Intel Core 2 Quad chip. Initial tests have shown it is really quick and i mean REALLY Quick!!!

  • 14/03/2008 - Sucessfull External Connection Testing
We have succesfully connected external games to our system, with the help of a couple of testers. Many thanks to Chris Senior and Dave Langley for all their help. The main stumbling block was the fact that outgoing packets from the games start with a ttl of 1. This needs to be reset to 64 by your router so that the packets can reach here. I am currently working on an easy solution to this using a linksys router and some open source software that can be plugged into existing networks to sit between the game and your own router thus removing the need to mess about with your own routers.
