Welcome to Sweet Sugar Sixpence – home of West Yorkshire’s premier cupcakes, cookies and other sweet treats. We have made it our mission to create hand baked delights, as beautiful as they are delicious and freshly made just for you.

Sweet Sugar Sixpence is the love child of Claire and Rachel, we met in 2006 and became the best of friends through a shared love of all things vintage and retro, cups of tea, weddings and of course cake!

As Rachel's 2008 wedding approached, many an evening was spent discussing the kind of cake that would suit Rachel's laid back, vintage but current wedding style. It just had to be cupcakes, and it had to be Claire who baked them. A bake fest ensued; flavours were sampled, icing styles tested and sprinkles....sprinkled.

All our taste-testers agreed, our cakes were fabulous and we should share them with the world. We tentatively held our first stall at Leeds Farmer’s Market – selling out of cupcakes, and one happy customer declaring them ‘better than Selfridges’.

And so Sweet Sugar Sixpence was born.

We pride ourselves on tailoring our cupcakes and cookies to your needs, ensuring you always get the perfect result. Whether you choose to give us creative free rein or have your say every step of the way – its up to you.
